Every pipe and cable that passes through a fire rated wall or floor breaks the fire rating, and every one of those penetrations has to be sealed and separated to the standard that governs it. Electrical to AS/NZS 3000, communications to AS/CA S009, water to AS/NZS 3500, gas to AS/NZS 5601.1, sprinklers to AS 2118.

On site that usually means a separate penetration for every service, sealed by a different trade, with the separation distances measured by hand.

The Ezy Multi Service Transition Box replaces all of it with one unit. The service locations are pre-determined and cut at the factory to the correct separations, so compliance is built into the product instead of depending on how carefully it was set out on the day.

Patented design, factory set out

The openings are cut in fixed positions with the required separation between service types already established. Nothing is measured or marked on site. A certifier can inspect the installation and see the segregation is correct, because it was never variable in the first place.

Cable groupings

  • Group 1. Orange Circular, ≤ 16 mm² 4C+E. Copper area ≤ 70 mm². Single cable only.
  • Group 2. TPS, ≤ 10 mm² per conductor. Copper area ≤ 84 mm². Maximum 8 per bundle.
  • Group 3. CAT, Coax, Security and fire cables. Copper area ≤ 3 mm². Maximum 11 per bundle.
